Aphasia Booklets and Wallet Cards

AphasiaNZ Booklets

AphasiaNZ produces a 12-page booklet explaining aphasia. The differences between non-fluent aphasia and fluent aphasia are outlined, and communication strategies for both are suggested.

The booklet is available in English, Te Reo Māori, Samoan, Tongan, Chinese and Hindi.

We also have booklets explaining Aphasia due to brain tumour and Primary Progressive Aphasia.

Other information leaflets and documents are also available. Click here for our information sheet for friends of people with aphasia – this is full of advice to help you maintain and hopefully strengthen your friendship.

Please note –  electronic copies of our booklets are not available. Our resources are able to be sent within New Zealand only.

If your organisation would like to utilise our resources, we can provide these at cost. Please click here for a link to our resource list with pricing.

AphasiaNZ Wallet Cards

The “I have aphasia” wallet card is a small card that can help those with aphasia to communicate with others.

The double-sided cards explain what aphasia is and asks those that view the card to speak clearly, slowly and give you time to answer.

People with aphasia, and those with a loved one with aphasia, can have cards sent out free of charge by contacting us and providing us with your postal address.

Please note: We only send wallet cards to people living in New Zealand. We receive a lot of requests from people overseas. Please contact the organisation in your state or country to see if they have wallet cards available. Thank you 🙂
