Support Meetings

We run support meetings to provide an opportunity to share experiences and have open discussions with those with aphasia.  We call these meetings Aphasia Hubs.

A person who knows about aphasia and can provide you with support facilitates most meetings.  The meetings can also include guest speakers and the latest in training and communication techniques.  The meetings are free of charge - koha welcome.

At present Hub meetings are running in Auckland, Christchurch, and Wellington.  In Tauranga, there is a Korero Club for people with aphasia facilitated by our Tauranga CAA.

More details about Hub meetings can be found by clicking here and viewing the non-aphasia friendly page.

Meetings are held in various Auckland locations including at the University of Auckland Tamaki Campus in St Johns (Cafe Europa, Building 733).

Email us for more information.

Christchurch Hub meetings are held every Monday at the Papanui RSA from 10.30am-12pm.

Korero Club alternates with Hub meetings.

Wellington Hub and Conversation Club meetings are held on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 10.15am at the Johnsonville Community Centre.

There is also a monthly meeting in Paraparaumu at the Kapiti Impact Hub, and monthly field trips/outings.

Email wellington@aphasia.org.nz for more information.
