Our Services

We have a range of services available to help both people with aphasia, family members, and those working and interacting with people who have aphasia.

Our services are designed to empower people with aphasia to live an ordinary life.

We offer:

A Community Aphasia Advisor (CAA) Service

Community Aphasia Advisors (CAAs) provide field work services, information, education and resources to people with and affected by aphasia in Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington, and Christchurch.

A Community Partnership Training Program

AphasiaNZ partners with community groups and businesses by providing training and consultation to staff members that want to better support those with aphasia and improve their services to people with communication difficulties.

A Peer to Peer Program

AphasiaNZ can provide new 'Friends of AphasiaNZ' with a peer mentor; a current 'Friend' who has aphasia and can draw on their own life experiences to provide support and advice.

Support Groups

Support groups - which we call Aphasia Hubs - are currently running in AucklandChristchurch, Dunedin and Wellington. We want to expand our support groups nationally.  More information will be posted as it becomes available.

Wallet Cards

Our wallet cards assist communication more easily by explaining what aphasia is and offering tips on communication.
